Random post

Have you ever felt lucky and happy by just eating something as simple as a piece of small cake?

I realised that, I'm easily satisfied at times and can feel very happy as if I own the whole world eventhough it's just a tiny bit of thing. Haha... I'm insane, isn't it? Yeah I'm insane =)

Secret Recipe's (SR) cakes are my favourites, especially when it comes to their cheese and chocolate flavours. Went to SR at Melati Utama this afternoon... been longing for their cakes and tom yam ages ago. It's been some time since I went SR. Miss the cakes and tom yam. Even now to think back, my mouth's still watering =)

I know you'll say, "FAT la! Eat somemore!!!"

I don't care. Like my friend said, once in a while, rewarding ourselves is a good deed. Yeah I totally agree with that. I'm a chocoholic and cheesaholic, which explains why I have this kind of body shape haha. Anyway, if once in a while I eat and can feel soooooo happy about it, why not?

But seriously, if you always go there for only cakes, then you should also try out their famous award winning tom yam kung. I always go there for it! Muahaha.. one of my favourite dish, though it's kinda expensive =( Never mind.. once in a while.

And I found out something at this MU outlet. The cheese in Gordon Blue is counted quite a lot compared to other outlets. In many of the outlets, you won't see cheese. But in this outlet (maybe still new), you'll see hot creamy cheese sauce flowing out when you cut the meat. I swear, this is the 1st time I see cheese flowing out. *yummy*

Alright enough for Secret Recipe. Later people think that I'm paid to promote their food =_=''

Lately been quite busy. Don't know busy with what lol. Just busy. I'm always busy but don't know why there's still piles of things undone. Really sweat.

Next week I need to hand in 2 lab reports, do 1 presentation and sit for 1 mid-term test which happens to be Statistics. After last sem's Maths nightmare, more or less I have a bit phobia on this subject, though Statistics is much much easier than Maths for Engineering II. Anyway, I think I should be able to cope with it.

And about that presentation, how I wish I don't need to present it. It's not my favourite subject, which I doubt it's anyone's favourite subject. Pengajian Malaysia!!!! Who likes it?? NO ONE. Worse of all, presentation in Malay..... My Malay kns, always stuck here and there. Well, luckily not included in finals if not, die. Because the subject itself is already boring, and I'm sure noone loves to memorise it, noone except our PA lecturers. I'm always wondering, why we need to study this subject, which I think the probability that we will use it in the future will be near 0? No idea at all. To introduce Islam maybe, if you read our History textbook carefully back in high school.

Lost so many things today. Freaking unlucky day. Adrian told me that many of his friends have been yelling unlucky to him. Haha, is it an unlucky week for all of us? Hope I can find my water bottle back. I know it's not made of gold, but at least it was bought by my mom and wasn't very cheap. And for sure not those RM0.99 mineral water bottles. Hope the cleaner doesn't throw it in the dustbin like what Kelvin told me. He said he saw before those nice water bottles being thrown into rubbish bin. What the....??!!! At least make effort give it to the office or put in back to where it was found la. People's money you know....... Anyway, I think I've made a big deal about it which is quite pointless. Forget about it.

Thomas said: Love hurts, and it's hearbreaking.

Yeah I totally agree. Love at first may seem to be the most wonderful thing in the world. But in the end, it'll end up like shit. I experienced it before, and it sucks when things go wrong.

I pity my bestie sometimes. She's sooo in a love with a guy yet she has no way to express her feelings for him. I've never seen her soo deeply in love before. But this guy has never confess to her. Sometimes, somethings that he did will make you think that he's actually in love with her too. Sometimes, you'll feel that he's just treating her as a friend. She's suffering sometimes, just to guess he likes her or not. If you're her, you'll understand.

So, don't toy around with people's feelings. You'll just make them suffer. Vivi, just shout it out ok? Hehe.. 4 of us will always support you. But we can't afford to go Chilis with you =)

Alright till here. Going dim sum for breakfast at 5.30am later. We're crazy haha. I miss Penang dim sum!!!!!!

Some updates about me

Wow, after refreshing this page for uncountable times, finally, it is loaded successfully. DAMN line, don't know why it's so lag nowadays. Well, forget about it.

I know I've been missing for quite some time here and in msn. Haha so sorry. I was busy with WFC things and society stuffs. Then these few days, I was and am addicted to Hong Kong series - Forensic Heroes II and PSP game - tennis.

Well, talking about Forensic Heroes... I AM SO JEALOUS OF THEM!!!!!

Haha, how I wish I can be like them! It's my dream to be in forensic science field. I love to look for evidence to solve a mystery and seek the truth to help the innocents. Dealing with those super hi-end machines must be very FUN!!!! Cool cool cool..... *dreaming*

It has been a quite happy day for me because had a nice dinner with my housemates. It's not matter of food, but it's nice because all of us (excluding Shen Chie) finally had the time to gather together to gossip, exchange news, chit-chat about just anything and crack jokes together. The moments are soooo precious, because we rarely have the correct timing to gather together though we stay in the same house.

I would say that it's so lucky of me to be able to stay in the same house with them. Once in a while there might be misunderstanding and bei-syok-ness among us, but that will just last for a few minutes. One thing is for sure, I LOVE THEM!

******************************************

Attended Traveler's Den's AGM this afternoon. The number of students who showed up in the AGM is quite of out of expectation. Because normally people will not attend it unless you are the previous committee. So well done, everyone! And thanks for attending it my fellows members!

Hmmm.. thought that I can relax more after WFC and AGM, mana tau now still involve in Traveler's Den. But never mind, Traveler's Den is not like the other societies or clubs... we're different and it's fun to be in here. The previous batch of committee really made a good team. Too bad that some of them are already in final year and cannot hold anymore posts in societies... will miss them! By the way, congrats to those who were chosen to be in the committee. For those who were not in the previous batch of committee, I hope that we can work well together and make Traveler's Den a legend. Hahaha... "to make Traveler's Den a legend" was what our Da Ge told me long time ago.

Speaking of AGM, if you're a Biological Science Society member, if possible please attend next week's AGM. I'll be going to support my hsemate. She's the current secretary. Vote for her!!!! She's very efficient and capable. By the way, her name is Li Pei =)

This will be a short post because I need to finish off my piles of homework.

Before I end, I would like to dedicate this back to a friend of mine:

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to the understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.....

This kind of people truly exist because I've encountered before. Because of them, there is no more starless night. Instead, they themselves become the stars and moon, who will always shine brightly on you......that is why the sky becomes more beautiful to gaze upon :)

F.E.S.tival - 04.06.08

It's 6th of June.

Happy Birthday my dear Mung Papa!!!

May all your dreams come true... sorry I'm not in Penang again for your birthday but never mind, I just called to wish you right? Miss you!! And again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY~!!!

p/s: Mung papa is not my dad. Just a good friend whom my besties referred him as our papa because he seems like one =)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally with my internet line so lag, I successfully uploaded the pictures that I captured in FEStival. Well, won't say I'm a good photographer but hmm, just to let you know more about the whole event.

Basically, this event can be said to be successful. So congratulations to all committee members~!!

But please, please, please, if you all were to organise another FEStival, please don't state that "All societies MUST involve in the fund-raising program". Because all society committees will surely strangle you to death!!! We SHOULD have the right to choose to or not to participate in this event right? You all SHOULDN'T force us to participate! Anyway, it's over and I guess everyone has had their own fun =)

I didn't really follow the entire program flow because I had to "jaga" my society's booth.

Since I'm here, I would like to take this opportunity to promote my society - Traveler's Den.

If you're someone who likes to travel around to experience new things, learn more about the world outside Setapak and make more friends who has this same passion as yours, then you're most welcome to join Traveler's Den. The advantage of becoming a member is, whenever there is a trip going on, you can join at a member rate. Meaning, you'll get a cheaper price compared to non-member =) Visit our booth now in canteen for recruitment. We'll be there until next Wednesday, 11th June 2008.

in front of board

In front of our booth- we were just doing exhibition for recruitment

Alright, back to the main point. This FEStival has attracted students from different campuses like FICT, FAS, FAM. Of course there are booths selling all sorts of food which include Pearl Milk Tea, Ice Kacang, Pancake, Corn, Toast bread, Spaghetti, Domino's Pizza etc... all prepared by students except for Domino's Pizza. And to add one more thing, their talent in cooking is not bad =) Some booths prepared games like UNO stack, car simulator etc. The purpose of selling food and games is to raise fund for their respective societies.

Tysus - helping out in Biological Science booth with pancakes

The usual programs include singing from various "artistes" whom I would not bad. Thumbs up to most of them. They not only sang, but played guitar, keyboard etc. Some "artistes" were our own students but some were guest performers like Feeling Cafe, rock band J4N, Astro Talent Quest Finalist - Vicky etc.

Photobucket

1st from right is my friend Andrew performing =)

chao yen

Leo aka Chao Yen - he can play violin, "er hu", saxophone etc.. my music center founder

Dancing is of course part of the program flow. Haha talking about dancing, I finally realised that the guy who is the same lecture as me is actually a great dancer and he was the lead dancer. Not sure about his name but I know that he changed my point of view towards him. I have always thought that he's the quiet type, those who are "si si man man". But when I saw him dancing, I was like, "Whoa, not bad huh!" We really cannot judge a person by his/her outlook. LOL.

Then the parts which attracted many guys were the various fashion shows by designers like Karl Ng, XEX, Tropicana Life and etc. Hairdo and makeup were made by Miko etc. I would say that the Program Manager for FEStival is very "geng" because he can find sooo many renowned sponsors and designers for this event. Compared to me... I already lost 100% to him. SWT.

Our FES Fashion Night Champion in white evening dress

For the very first time, UTAR's event is sponsored by sponsors like The Star, Digi, Steven's Corner, Tropicana Life, XEX, Karl Ng etc.... Couldn't remember all of them. Hitz.fm cruisers were even invited to come and students grabbed lots of goodies away.

For the very first time I feel that, UTAR's becoming more famous and successful. If you're a UTAR-ian, you'll understand what I'm saying. Not everyone knows about UTAR, but everyone knows about TARC. That's a sad case you know, because UTAR and TARC is just beside each other. Yet, somehow people tend to ignore us though we're actually a university. Some more not those cheap uni k. I wonder why people still don't really know about us. *wondering*

It's not easy to organise such thing actually. You have to be well dedicated like my housemates and those SRC (Student Representative Committee) members. Need lots of time to prepare, find sponsorhip, do publicity, arrange performances and rehearsal for several times. It's really tiring.. and exhausted. But if you're dedicated, you'll enjoy while you're working and will learn many things. I salute them!

Suddenly feel that, I have so much things to learn from them for our upcoming event for freshmen, Welcome Freshmen Concert.

Suddenly, I feel that... we're so far behind. Their event is so grand. Never mind we must be confident!! WFC will be as good as well hehe so please do come and support us at FES Welcome Freshmen Concert on next Friday - 13th June. Thank YOu!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, now let me tell you what happened in my house during the night before FEStival. Everyone was busy preparing for their booth stuffs. Except Shen Chie, who lacked of sleep for many days due to the workloads of FEStival committee.. she slept very early.

Basically, Shyuan and I were busy decorating our parts for our board. She's in charge of the Perak trip, and I of course was in charge of the 3 Islands trip. We started our work late because initially we were helping out our housemates with their pancakes, we were their guinea pigs=) Or in nicer words, we were the testers for their food. Well, we didn't really help out much though, but played a lot instead haha.

Li Pei and Fern were busy mixing ingredients for their pancakes, trying hard to get the right taste. Tysus came over and helped out. He was actually the main chef of the night and for the next day. A big applause for him!! Imagine, a guy who can't cook anything except for maggi mee can actually do such nice pancakes... it's a wonder!!
p/s: Li Pei and Fern are from Biological Science society.

shyuan playing

Told you she played with it. The base of the pancake looks like a glove huh??

shyuan

1st try - NONO.. lack of some taste..

messy

My house in a state of mess...really messy

Now, it's time for showtime! Those who wish to do simple pancakes, you can have a look how's the procedure looks like. The things that you'll need:

1. Flour
2. Baking powder
3. Eggs
4. Margerin
5. Milk
6. Sugar and salt
7. Vanilla essence
*8. Peanut butter or chocolate spread
* For your preference

I'm sorry that I can't provide you with the exact measurement of the ingredients. They followed the recipe but somehow the taste was not enough. So basically the whole process was of trial and error. Sorry folks!

Below are the procedures:

1. Beat the egg yolks evenly by mixing it with milk.

2. Then mix the flour, baking powder, vanilla essence, with milk and egg yolks.
add egg

3. It's now time for salt and sugar.
cooking

4. After mixing thoroughly, the egg whites are added. If it's not watery enough or too saturated, you can add a little bit of water.

5. Tadaa! The mixture should look something like this.
Photobucket

6. Scoop some of the mixture and spread it evenly on the pancake machine. Then close cover and wait for about 5 minutes.
paste spread

7. Your pancake base should be like this.
Photobucket

8. Spread your favourite jam / peanut butter / chocolate spread / butter on the pancake base.
add butter

9. Roll the base into this long cylindrical shape.
nice

10. Place the completed roll(s) into an oven and toast it for about 5 minutes. The the final outcome of the pancake should look like this!
after toasting

11. Hehe.. then place it nicely on a plate and now your completed pancake is ready to be served!

=================================================

Hehe.. not difficult right? Yea it seems easy but the process of beating and mixing the mixture is tiring. Try it out! Those who have no talent in cooking, if you are thinking of making some kind of food for your bf/ gf/ loved ones.. this should be suitable for you! No harm trying!

Alright, I will end this FEStival thingy here. The next upcoming event in UTAR FES will be Welcome Freshmen Concert. See you guys there soon!

Oh yea just to let all of you know, I'll be off to Genting tomorrow to see The Click Five live in Arena Stars~!!! YAHOOOOO~!!!!!!!!!!!
