It was an awesome and challenging experience. Those of you who haven't been there before and love adventurous trips should definitely try this place out.
There were 7 of us, 4 guys and 2 girls. 3 hiked before this hill and 4 including me were newbies. We started hiking around 7am and reached downhill at about 11am. We were slow because we were busy snapping pictures and I was the one who dragged their time as I was slow.
I love this type of challenge but I really have no confidence in myself when it comes to this kind of hiking/jungle trekking because of my height. My legs and hands are short, and this makes me think that I cannot bypass those huge gaps or climb up steep places. But every time after some tough hikings, they will boost up my confidence more and more. Same goes to this time. I am sure I can be better next time!
Though SOME people said that this hill discriminates shorties, but being a truly shortie, I successfully completed the whole journey! So I am sure the rest of you can make it too!
The weather today was so nice, cloudy and breezy. We thought it would rain before we managed to reach donwhill but thank god, it did not and we reached downhill safely =)
We were in time to see sunrise. One of my all-this-while-wish was finally completed. Yahoo! Too bad it did not go on like I planned to with him. =(
It was adventurous because there were no staircases or whatsoever to help you up hill and downhill, except some ropes at some steep areas and of course tha natural ROCKS available there. Haha.
There were no railings as well, so one wrong step could really grab your life away. It is really DANGEROUS. No doubt there were many cases whereby hikers went missing or their bodies found dead after their slips and falls. There were even warnings along the pathway to warn us about nasty incidents that have happened before. I did not dare to read any of them in case they made me feel discouraged.
Noone gave up in this hiking. Hooray teammates! I am glad we made a good team who were willing to help each other. Below are some of the dangerous and tough moments:
This is the place where I was stuck.
1 slip and Sherril Leow will be gone. *choi*!!
1 slip and Sherril Leow will be gone. *choi*!!
I was supposed to climb up the rock that I placed my hands against to. But the gap between this rock and the rock I was standing on was slightly huge. Furthermore those so-called holes/steps for you to step on the rock seemed so far, which seemed to be beyond my reach!
Clinging hard to the rock.
1,2,3 Jump!!!! Haha.
When I successfully crossed over, I was practically hugging this rock, not wanting to let go at all. Because I was scared that my foot could not reach the place it was supposed to be and I would slip! But then, haha I made my way up anyway with a bit of help =) Now nothing can stop me anymore!
1,2,3 Jump!!!! Haha.
So in the end, we did it! Haha the feeling after this hiking is soo good!
This time I can cling to the rock and posed for the camera!
When we reached the top part (1 stop before the most top point), it was of course our resting time. Guess what? Zhou Chong brought a watermelon up and it was watermelon feasting and photo shooting time!
My 1st attempt for a jumping pose shot.
I totally suck in jumping, with my legs so short and heavy weight. LOL. So after numerous tryouts.....
Going downhill was far more easier than going up hill. So basically there was no problem with that. There was an uncle who claimed that this usual route to go downhill was not challenging enough so he patah balik the way he came up, which was also the way we came up. He was really adventurous huh? Going downhill through that route is soooo damn dangerous!
All on tree!
There was an orchard on the way downhill. We counted already, there were at least 7 different fruits: Nangka, Cempedak, Durian, Rambutan, Mangosteen, Starfruit, and another one I do not know the name.
Now let me introduce you - the couple of the year!! Mei Fern and her Kenny.
They really make me envy la. Sigh.
Then now for the heroes of the day!
