Bentong trip

OK, so here is the post I owed you guys since more than a week. Sorry for that, lately just do not have the mood and time for it. Anyway, since I skipped Moral today, I have the time for it. So be prepared because this will be a super long post with many many photos.

Let's just call this trip as Bentong Trip ya.

Well, this is a 1-day trip organised by Traveler's Den of UTAR FES with Yoon Sin as the chairperson for this trip. I of course joined in because I am part of this society and to support my twin's event. Haha... Just take it like a belated Valentine's treat for myself, since Valentine's was bored to hell.

We were glad that we had the seats of bus fully occupied, with 43 students and 1 advisor - Dr. Niranjan. We set off at around 7.30am from uni.

We did not really go to Bentong, but somewhere near there. Oh by the way Bentong is in Pahang. Hehe let my give you a brief idea of our journey:

  • 7.30am - Set off from uni
  • 10.00am - Arrived at Elephant Sanctuary @Kuala Gandah
  • 12.00pm - Set off to Deerland.
  • 12.15pm - Arrived at Deerland, started activities in there
  • 1.00pm - Lunched inside Deerland
  • 1.30pm - Played flying-fox in Deerland
  • 2.00pm - Set off for ice-cream
  • 3.30pm - Arrived at Kow Po Ice-Cream Restaurant and starting licking off those delicious ice cream
  • 4.00pm - Set off to waterfall
  • 4.30pm - Reached Chamang Waterfall and everyone had fun
  • 6.00pm - Bathed and changed into dry clothes
  • 6.30pm - Journey back to uni
  • 8.15pm - Bid goodbye to everyone

Well, that is not the exact time but well, just an estimation of mine. Could not really remember the timing. I paid Rm30 for this trip since I am a member of Traveler's Den and frankly, I think it is very worth the price.

In Elephant Sanctuary, first we were ushered into a small room to watch a movie clip about elephants which lasted for half an hour. Then the exciting part came. We got to feed those elephants and even ride on them!! Haha have you ever ridden on an elephant? I bet not many of you did =) But sadly, we were not be able to make it for their bathing session because the session is in the afternoon and we have other places to go.

Me and Shyuan with this Myanmar elephant.

Me and my classmates who went.

The name "Deerland" makes you think of what? Only deers right? Haha but the truth is, there are other animals in it too! It is some kind like a mini private zoo. Hey do not think that ZOO is boring because this special zoo is not boring at all! You can even play with the animals =) Wohoo~!!!

Of course given the name "Deerland", there are many deers in it and everyone of us got the chance to feed them.

Luckily I am still taller than it!

It is so cute =)

Then it was time for monkey show-off time! This cute little thing was asked by our tour guide to perform some tricks. We lined up in a line and it jumped from the last person's shoulder to the first person's shoulders. We were even allowed to have the monkey on our shoulders and pose for pictures!

With the mischievious monekey.

After that, the tour guide led us around the mini zoo. Let the pictures do their job now =)

Baby Sun Bear.

I do not know what is it but it is so damn cute!!

Watch out!! That is REAL snake!

Porcupine.

I love this bird so colourful =)

Haha after playing, we had lunch in another side of Deerland. This place is a private place of our tour guide's. He grows herbs in it and I think he does research in there. I am not too sure. Anyway once we were inside everyone was eating hungrily.

Inside the herbs area.

After lunch our tour guide offered to bring us to his private flying fox area. At first only 10 people were allowed to play but in the end haha.. more than 10 ppl tried and I was one of them!!! You know how much I like these kind of activtities so how could I be left out? Somemore this activity is free! It is an offer from our kind tour guide. Thank you!

Dr. Niranjan played flying fox too!

On my way to the other side of river to play flying fox.

Oh! I am FLYING!!!

Haha after taking group picture outside Deerland, everyone was fast sound asleep on bus during the journey to the famous Kow Po Ice Cream Restaurant. Everyone was exhausted I think=) Oh and I heard I had my ugly sleeping face in some people's camera. ISH that is the karma for snapping Kelvin's sleeping pose.

Group picture. Thanks photographers!

Well, comments about the FAMOUS ice-cream. Hmm.... I feel that there is nothing special about it, but 1 thing is for sure, it is very soft. Erm, 1 scoop costs you RM2. Is it expensive? Try and you will know =) I heard that you can "ta pau" back and can last you for 8 hours of journey? I am not sure whether I have mistaken it or not.

The restaurant.

Ice-creams... YUMMY!

Haha crazy fella posing with ice-creams.

Anyway, did not spend quite long over there because everyone was looking forward to the last stop - WATERFALL!!!

Huge huh?

I tell you, Chamang Waterfall is a nice place. I think it is a famous place since there is even road signs for it. Initially I did not plan to go into the water since you know, I do not really like to take bath in public toilets. But thanks to my GOOD classmates, we 3 girls were dumped into the water by them.. and I was all wet. KNS!!!

Yoon Sin

Boon Cheng

See, they splashed us!

But well, we really had fun there. Some people like Kae Vin did water surfing. Haha not really surfing la, just hmm... don't know how to say. Anyway, it was fun and you know why? Some of us do not know how to swim (excluding me) but with our team work, we were able to bypass the strong current. Haha... I was nearly being washed away by the strong waves while enjoying the super great "massage" from the water, but luckily friends grabbed hold of me, shyuan and yoon sin in time. Haha must be because we were too small-sized and too light. *self perasan*

Strong current.

Oh I love the waterfall!!!

Go to Kae Vin's blog to see about the water and how he 'surfed' haha.

Then, it was time to go back. Ahaha, did not sleep during the journey back but talked with my juniors. I realised that many people from this trip were from my course, just that different year. Haha the youngest participant was Hesmond - Y1S1 from MH. Eh, we never had a Y1S1 participants ever since our 1st activity so I am so happy to have people like him to join. Then the oldest I heard were seniors in Year 4.

So people, thanks for giving me a nice belated Valentine's treat haha. I really enjoyed myself! Baby Ong, you did a great job!!!!
